SIBU: Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) Sarawak lauds the Prime Minister’s statement that several good news and improvements for civil servants will be announced during the coming 2018 Budget.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is Finance Minister, was quoted as saying this at the 15th Civil Service Premier Message Gathering ( MAPPA) in Putrajaya recently.

On this, state Cuepacs ( CNS) president Ahmad Malie said: “CNS hopes the Prime Minister’s promise will become reality and could fulfil the demand voiced out by civil servants through Cuepacs all this while.

“CNS is also hoping for the good news to be announced by Prime Minister during the coming Budget will be a comprehensive incentive and will delight all civil servants as all this while they have been waiting for more delightful incentives.”

Recently, Cuepacs national president Datuk Azih Muda had called for the government to consider giving double salary increment to all civil servants regardless of their employment groups and ranks.

Azih reportedly said the incentive would definitely help alleviate the financial burden of the civil servants facing rising cost of living.

He was further quoted as saying that Cuepacs also called on the government to carry out a review on the public service allowance rate (for the lowest group) which was only RM95 presently.
