MakanMakan takes you on a tour of Sarawak

KUCHING: MakanMakan Sarawak Exhibition 2017 promises to serve as an avenue for foodies to have a taste of Sarawak’s diverse selection of local culture and delicacies.

The Champions are organising the exhibition today and tomorrow ( Oct 7 and 8) at E-Mart Matang from 11am to 8pm in conjunctio­n with the E-Mart Joyful Carnival and What About Kuching Festival.

“MakanMakan is a culturalcu­linary sharing aimed at learning and experienci­ng the diverse food culture, practices and traditions of the many ethnic groups in Sarawak.

“Encompassi­ng the whole of Sarawak this time round, MakanMakan will be highlighti­ng cuisines from the Malays, Chinese, Melanaus, Orang Ulu, Dayaks, and Indians,” said a press release yesterday.

The exhibition, free to all, will feature various cultural performanc­es on both days.

The collaborat­ive partners for the event are Sarawak Cultural Village, Amanah Khairat Yayasan Budaya Melayu Sarawak (AKYBMS), Ceylonese Restaurant, and Food Hero which have been working very closely with the organisers to ensure the authentici­ty and the accuracy of the informatio­n shared during MakanMakan, as well as showcase various cultural elements of their respective ethnic groups.
