MakanMakan takes you on a tour of Sarawak
KUCHING: MakanMakan Sarawak Exhibition 2017 promises to serve as an avenue for foodies to have a taste of Sarawak’s diverse selection of local culture and delicacies.
The Champions are organising the exhibition today and tomorrow ( Oct 7 and 8) at E-Mart Matang from 11am to 8pm in conjunction with the E-Mart Joyful Carnival and What About Kuching Festival.
“MakanMakan is a culturalculinary sharing aimed at learning and experiencing the diverse food culture, practices and traditions of the many ethnic groups in Sarawak.
“Encompassing the whole of Sarawak this time round, MakanMakan will be highlighting cuisines from the Malays, Chinese, Melanaus, Orang Ulu, Dayaks, and Indians,” said a press release yesterday.
The exhibition, free to all, will feature various cultural performances on both days.
The collaborative partners for the event are Sarawak Cultural Village, Amanah Khairat Yayasan Budaya Melayu Sarawak (AKYBMS), Ceylonese Restaurant, and Food Hero which have been working very closely with the organisers to ensure the authenticity and the accuracy of the information shared during MakanMakan, as well as showcase various cultural elements of their respective ethnic groups.
