Miri Hospital holds Breast Cancer Awareness programmes

MIRI: Miri Hospital is holding various programmes in conjunctio­n with breast cancer awareness month, October, to reach out to the members of the public.

On Oct 7 (today), several dozen participan­ts will be taking part in the Picktober Charity Bowling at East Megalanes, Bintang Megamall from 10.30am to 1pm.

According to Dr. Jack Wong, the charity event is to raise fund for Seahorse Sutera Support Group who serves breast cancer patients. “Of course, we would like to encourage better interactio­n between the public and staff of Miri Hospital through games and having a great time,” he added.

Pinktober Summit will be held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall on Oct 28 from 12pm to 5pm. The summit will feature booths offering breast screening, free health screening, appointmen­t making for mammogram screen, colouring contest and lucky draw for participan­ts.

To promote healthy lifestyle, there will be 30 minutes of dance and exercise - Zumbathon led by Miri Elite Fitness Crew.

Members of the public may support the fund raising campaign, by purchasing the special Pinktober t-shirt at RM40 each.

The activities and programmes are jointly organised by Seahorse Sutera Support Group, Miri Hospital and Miri Hospital Head of Surgical Department.
