‘Look beyond hard news to embrace other issues’
CYBERJAYA: Asian media companies should explore beyond hard news and political reporting and focus on interesting peoplecentric and socio-economic issues, said CNN Ddgital Asia director Marc Lourdes.
He said there was room for the media to explore this further and focus on issues that would make the industry more interesting, moving forward.
“Asian media is getting interesting because more new digital media companies are coming up, making traditional media rethink their strategy,” he told Bernama on the sidelines of the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre Symposium 2017 ( MA2017) here yesterday.

might bring new dilemma for media companies if the companies are not well prepared.
“By 2023, people interaction with devices will be voice based. This will be a new transformation in the relationship between media and technology.
“In CNN, we have the drone unit. We train people to take photographs and videos with the use of drones. I am not seeing much of this among the local media in Asia,” added Lourdes.
