Go Auto to launch electric buses

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributo­r for Haval vehicles in Malaysia, Go Auto, will launch electric vehicles (EV) and its components by end-2017, in line with efforts to transform Malaysia into a regional manufactur­ing hub.

Executive Director Datuk SM Azli SM Nasimuddin Kamil said the EV prototypes were near completion.

“As a start, Go Auto has been given the trust to supply electric buses, worth RM30 million, to the Melaka state government.” — Bernama THE Kuala Lumpur Tin Market ( KLTM) rebounded from Thursday’s loss to close US$ 90 higher at US$ 20,940 per tonne yesterday.

A dealer said the local tin price performed in tandem with the overnight metal price on the London Metal Exchange ( LME) which went up by US$ 220 at US$ 21,000 per tonne.

“This trading was also active as we saw a lot of traders coming in during the trading session,” he said.

At the opening bell on the KLTM, bids stood at 47 tonnes, with offers at 45 tonnes.

Trading saw the participat­ion of buyers from China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the United States and United Kingdom.

Volume on the KLTM improved to 45 tonnes from 32 tonnes on Thursday.

The price differenti­al between the KLTM and LME stood at a discount of US$ 60 per tonne from a premium of US$ 70 previously.
