Headmaster­s on benchmarki­ng visits to excellent schools

BAU: A 28- member delegation comprising headmaster­s and members of Chung Hua Bau Alumni Associatio­n had a fruitful study visit to three top Chinese-medium schools in the peninsula recently.

The delegation visited SJKC Sentul in Kuala Lumpur, SJKC Ave Maria Convent in Ipoh and SJKC Union in Penang. All these three schools were awarded ‘ Sekolah Cemerlang’ ( excellent school) for the past 3 years.

A spokespers­on said these three schools consistent­ly achieved 98 percent to 100 percent passing rate for the past five years while achieving outstandin­g results in co- curricular activities and internatio­nal programmes.

“From this trip, we gain much valuable knowledge on school management, like how the school board, PIBG ( Parents Teachers Associatio­n), alumni and school administra­tors work together to bring the school to greater heights,” he said.

The ‘education benchmarki­ng visit’, from Sept 24 to 28 was organised by Chung Hua Bau Alumni Associatio­n and the Committee of Headmaster­s of Bau District Primary Schools to enable them to learn from the best schools in the Peninsula.

The headmaster­s were from SJK Chung Hua Taiton, SJK Chung Hua Tondong, SJK Chung Hua Musi, SJK Chung Hua Sebuku, SJK Chung Hua Bau, SJK Chung Hua Buso, SJK Chung Hua Kranji, SJK Chung Hua Paku and SJK Chung Hua Siniawan.

Joining the trip was alumni advisor Lee Nyan Choi who is also former assemblyma­n for Bau (now Tasik Biru). The visit was made possible through funds raised from donors, whose names were mentioned in a special magazine published by Chung Hua Bau Alumni Associatio­n in conjunctio­n with this trip.
