Naim presents award to top UCTS student

SIBU: Naim Group of Companies presented an Industry Excellence Award to University College of Technology Sarawak’s ( UCTS) best civil engineerin­g student Ngang Kiu Kiong during the university’s graduation ceremony recently.

Ngang graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineerin­g.

Naim Group human resource head Andrew Chan, who presented the award, said it was part of the group’s collaborat­ion with UCTS to promote academic excellence and advancemen­t in education within the community.

Naim is also an active member of the UCTS Industrial Advisory Council.

“This is our first collaborat­ion with UCTS for this award. At Naim, we believe that the younger generation are our hopes for the future as this is our way of assisting and motivating them to be the best they can be,” he said in a press release yesterday.

Apart from industry awards, Naim also has programmes such as scholarshi­ps, academic excellence awards, internship­s and other training and developmen­t schemes for the younger generation.

“This is our way of facilitati­ng capacity building for our state, in line with our philosophy of building value in every way for our communitie­s,” added Chan.
