-

MIRI: The Terengganu Combined Motorsport Associations is currently taking part in the Borneo Ride 2017.

A total of 18 big bikers arrived here from Brunei yesterday.

They began their ride in Sabah on Sept 25 and will end the ride in Kuching, where they are scheduled to join the two- day Kuching International Bike Week 2017, which starts today (Friday).

Secretary Othman Endut said during the ride, the association is also promoting Terengganu Bike Week 2018 on March 29 to April 1.

“We will stop at every division to meet the bike bikers there and also to invite them for the Terengganu Bike Week 2018,” he said.

Othman said he hopes each state will send at least 20 bikers for Terengganu Bike Week.

“Terengganu offers many tourism products such as its beaches, handcrafts and food,” he said.

He added the association hoped to help Sarawak’s cottage industry market products in Peninsular Malaysia.

“Sarawak has many products that can be commercialised in Peninsular Malaysia and through the bike convoy throughout Borneo, we have the opportunity to see fi rst-hand entrepreneurs of the products and exchange ideas for mutual benefit,” he added.

Among those present to welcome the big bikers were Koperasi Semangat 99 Miri Berhad chairman Wan Fauzi Wan Ahmad and secretary Mohd Amin Abdul Rahman.
