Tereng­ganu bik­ers rid­ing through Bor­neo

MIRI: The Tereng­ganu Com­bined Mo­tor­sport As­so­ci­a­tions is cur­rently tak­ing part in the Bor­neo Ride 2017.

A to­tal of 18 big bik­ers ar­rived here from Brunei yes­ter­day.

They be­gan their ride in Sabah on Sept 25 and will end the ride in Kuching, where they are sched­uled to join the two- day Kuching In­ter­na­tional Bike Week 2017, which starts to­day (Fri­day).

Sec­re­tary Oth­man En­dut said dur­ing the ride, the as­so­ci­a­tion is also pro­mot­ing Tereng­ganu Bike Week 2018 on March 29 to April 1.

“We will stop at ev­ery di­vi­sion to meet the bike bik­ers there and also to in­vite them for the Tereng­ganu Bike Week 2018,” he said.

Oth­man said he hopes each state will send at least 20 bik­ers for Tereng­ganu Bike Week.

“Tereng­ganu of­fers many tourism prod­ucts such as its beaches, hand­crafts and food,” he said.

He added the as­so­ci­a­tion hoped to help Sarawak’s cot­tage in­dus­try mar­ket prod­ucts in Penin­su­lar Malaysia.

“Sarawak has many prod­ucts that can be com­mer­cialised in Penin­su­lar Malaysia and through the bike con­voy through­out Bor­neo, we have the op­por­tu­nity to see fi rst-hand en­trepreneurs of the prod­ucts and ex­change ideas for mu­tual ben­e­fit,” he added.

Among those present to wel­come the big bik­ers were Kop­erasi Se­man­gat 99 Miri Ber­had chair­man Wan Fauzi Wan Ah­mad and sec­re­tary Mohd Amin Ab­dul Rahman.
