AirAsia named Malaysia’s Best Company in IR for middle cap category
SEPANG: AirAsia Bhd ( AirAsia) has been named Malaysia’s Best Company for Investor Relations ( IR) this year.
AirAsia’s chief executive officer Aireen Omar received the award on behalf of the airline from Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan at the Malaysia Investor Relations Association ( MIRA) Awards 2017 ceremony at Sime Darby Convent ion Centre in Kuala Lumpur recently.
In a press statement, the airline said it also won the Best IR website award, which was presented to the airline’s group head of Corporate Development, Elina Effendi, who previously headed the airline’s IR team.
Aireen said, “This is the result of the solid teamwork that we have fostered within AirAsia. We have always been transparent with our investors and we will continue to engage positively with them in the future.
“Winning the Best IR website is also significant to us as it is in line with our vision to be a truly digital airline. We will also continue to strive towards building value and maximising returns to our shareholders, and push the boundaries in all aspects of AirAsia.”
AirAsia and its long haul af f i l iate, AirAsia X also won two individual awards; the Best Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for IR which was awarded to AirAsia CFO How Kim Lian and Best Investor Relations Professional ( Mid Cap) garnered by AirAsia X I nve s t o r Re l at ions manager, Hani f Idrose Mohamed.

The award is aimed at recognising best IR practices by IR professionals and publiclisted companies on Bursa Malaysia.
