According to a political secretary to the chief minister, Romeo Christopher Tegong, the residents will be able to conduct their gatherings and meetings under a more conducive ambience.

“The project was applied for by JKKK (village development and security committee) of Rh Jalak before last year’s state election. It was completed by June this year,” Romeo said yesterday when commissioning the house.

Romeo said it was evident that the BN government was keen to develop rural areas in Sibu parliamentary constituency.

On another matter, he said all members of BN component parties in P212 Sibu area support the BN candidate chosen by the top leadership.

He stressed that it was important for an elected representative to be a leader for everybody, championing the people and not any individual or certain group(s) only.

“People’s representatives are not supposed to distinguish between flags, colour of shirt or skin if they intend to unite with other BN component parties,” he said.

Present were committees of PBB unit of Rh Mary, Sungai Bidut; SUPP Bawang Assan branch Bumiputera unit as well as representatives from PDP and PRS.
