KUCHING: The St Thomas’ Secondary School Form 5 class of 1974 and Upper 6 class of 1976 will hold a reunion on Saturday (Oct 21) at the Sarawak Club starting at 6.30pm.

A press release said 130 out of 222 classmates have registered to join the reunion, including those from Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, United States, and Singapore.

“We are 60 and still going strong and young. Hence we chose the theme ‘Forever Young’ and, written in another way, ‘43VER YOUNG’ – 43 denoting the number of years most of us left our beloved school St Thomas’ after fifth form,” said the press release.

According to the press release, planning for the reunion started eight months ago to ensure it is a unique occasion that participants will remember and cherish in years to come.

“One of our teachers will be leading the participants in the poco poco dance. A group will be performing the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ dance. There will be a martial arts demonstration by classmates who are kung fu masters. Another classmate will be performing the ngajat in full traditional costume; parang and shied included,” said the press release.

There will also be inter-house relay games, karaoke, and an arm-wrestling competition. Décor for the evening will include a specially built photo-booth with the iconic St Thomas’ School building as the backdrop.
