Rotarians complete work to improve SK Rumah Tayai

BINTULU: The Rotary Club of Bintulu Central ( RCBC) recently completed its school improvemen­t project at SK Rumah Tayai in Tatau.

The total project fund amounted to RM36,563 and works started on July 4.

With support and help from contractor­s and the parentteac­her associatio­n, the project was completed on schedule on Sept 7.

District 3310 governor Datuk Lee Chuen Wan officially handed over the project on Sunday.

The projects included the constructi­on of a 40m concrete walkway, repairing and replacing mosquito netting and glass, installing kitchen piping and filtration system, installing aluminium food shelves for the kitchen and fibre water filter.

RCBC also repaired the pipe system for washing, toilets, and bathrooms, sewage main pipe, toilet parts, 16 electrical fans, as well as electrical wiring and sockets for classrooms and the hall.

The club also provided 20 conference chairs, four conference tables, as well as 50 sets of mattresses, pillows and bedsheets.

Sponsors of the project were the Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints ( LDS) Charities, as well as the Rotary Clubs from Melaka, Johor Bahru and Singapore.

RCBC is now calling for public support to fund the replacemen­t of the school’s gutters and to construct a shade for the concrete walkway.
