‘PBDSB to field candidate in Limbang in coming GE14’

KUCHING: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru ( PBDSB) will field a candidate to contest in P221 Limbang parliament­ary seat in the next General Election (GE14).

Speaking to reporters yesterday, PBDSB president Cobbold John did not reveal who the person is but indicated that the person is a lawyer by profession.

He also commented that the candidate was born in Limbang and is also active in activities involving the Dayak community.

“We believe that the person is not only a suitable candidate but by fielding that person, we stand a chance to win the P221 Limbang seat during the next GE14. We also believe we have the support from the people there,” he added.

He said the party would reveal the candidate soon.

During the last General Election ( GE13), PBB’s Hasbi Habibollah won the seat with a 8,301 majority in a straight fight against state Parti Keadilan Rakyat ( PKR) chairman Baru Bian.

Before this, PBDSB hav announced that they will place candidates in all Dayak-majority seats. Cobbold himself has revealed that he will be contesting for the P202 Sri Aman parliament­ary seat in GE14.

So far PBDSB have announced that they will be contesting in P198 Puncak Borneo and P214 Selangau.

Rapelson Richard Hamit and Mengga Mikui were both mentioned as PBDSB’s candidates for the Puncak Borneo and Selangau seat respective­ly.
