Travel partners off to Singapore for ITB Asia

-

KUCHING: A total of 13 travel partners left for Singapore yesterday to take part in the 2017 ITB-Asia, the region’s premier travel trade fair, to be held from Oct 25 to 27 at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

The Sarawak travel industry was represented by eight travel agents and two hotels and avenue provider – Borneo Convention Centre Kuching and Sarawak Convention Bureau.

Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is providing a mini pavilion located at Hall F, booth C10 for the partners to promote Sarawak as a tourism destination in the region.

Sarawak will continue to stress on value for travelers and tourists visiting the State to attract international travel destination management companies at the fair.

ITB Asia is an extension of ITB Berlin, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show and the three-day event of Business to Business meetings where almost 900 international buyers are expected.

The event has become the primary travel trade event for the Asia Pacific region, creating connections between trade partners in Asia and Europe through business sessions and knowledge sharing.

Meanwhile, STB is also organizing its business sessions for the Sarawak team to meet and discuss business opportunities with their Singapore counterparts tomorrow afternoon in the Republic.

“Our partners are looking forward to doing business with more than 20 Singaporean agents and to introduce Sarawak products to their counterparts” said Gustino Basuan, STB’s ASEAN Marketing Manager.

He added that this annual business event has been successful in bringing additional business for the Sarawak agents.
