Douglas Duli Sanggau heads PRS Bukit Assek Division

SIBU: About 200 members of Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) Bukit Assek Division attended its extraordin­ary general meeting recently, with party deputy treasurer Edwin Banta officiatin­g.

Edwin is also a political secretary to the Chief Minister.

The meeting unanimousl­y elected Douglas Duli Sanggau as chairman while John Siang Maju was elected the deputy chairman. Others elected are vice chairman Alex Enggi, secretary Casper Kayong Umping, assistant secretary Ramli Bacha, treasurer Maluda Tambi and assistant treasurer James Raphael. David Usup is the informatio­n officer. In the women’s committee, Eda Manan was appointed the chief with Ensong Ipit as the deputy chief. The vice- chairperso­n is Teresa Maju while Susana Awat is the secretary and Jelumie Dangat, the assistant secretary. Stella Mina is the treasurer with Angela Gikian as her assistant.

Winston Casper was elected the youth chief with Lijang Japar as his assistant. Others are vice- chief Jelly Tambi, secretary Alexander Sabang, assistant secretary Merive Authy Alex and informatio­n officer Ludan Sato.

In his opening remarks, Edwin hoped PRS Bukit Assek Division would recruit more members in time to come.

He said every party division needs the commitment and support of all party members. He also urged them to co- operate with other Barisan Nasional component parties especially during the upcoming 14th general election.

Kayong also handed over membership forms of 530 new members of the Bukit Assek Division to Edwin for submission to and approval by the party headquarte­rs.
