John Stamos engaged to actress Caitlin McHugh
Actor John LOS ANGELES: Stamos is engaged.
The ‘ Fuller House’ and ‘Grandfathered’ star proposed to actress Caitlin McHugh, whom he’s been dating since 2016.
He broke the news on his Twitter account on Sunday night, tweeting an illustration of a man and woman embracing in front of what looks like Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland.
“I asked...she said yes! ... And we lived happily ever after,” he wrote, using an emoji of a diamond ring. Just last week, Stamos appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, where the two joked about who was going to get married first.
“I’m dating and I’m very much in love,” Stamos said.
For her part, McHugh told People that the couple – who worked on a short film, called Ingenueish, together – likes to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. “We like to keep our lives private because we’ve seen what relationships in the public eye can be like and we just like our privacy,” she said. “We don’t want the commentary from the masses about what our relationship is or should be. We’re very happy together and we hope to be so for a long time.” Stamos was previously married to Rebecca Romijn from 19982005. She has since gotten remarried, to Jerry O’Connell.
Earlier this year, Stamos helped a ‘Full House’ fan get engaged to his own girlfriend by recording a video on his behalf.
Stamos next appears in ‘ Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in Concert’ at the Hollywood Bowl on Nov 4.
