MySMINK aims to launch concept store by year-end

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Local beauty product online portal, mySMINK, plans to open its concept store in the Klang Valley by year- end.

Founders Diana Nasimuddin, 36 and Nadia Nasimuddin, 31, said the concept store would allow customers to see for themselves if the products, which were currently being sold on the portal, suit them.

“We believe that the store would be able to boost the sales of the products under the mySMINK brand, and several parties, including make-up artists, had also requested for us to open a physical store,” said Diana.

Following its launch in August this year, mySMINK currently features over 50 local beauty product brands on its online website.

In an interview on Bernama News Channel’s Nine11 show yesterday, Nadia said mySMINK also planned to market products from South-East Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

“We are looking for quality products from other countries in this region (South-East Asia) in a bid to offer more varieties to our customers,” she said, adding that the portal, which sold products from prices as low as RM13, had received encouraging response from the customers and beauty product vendors.

“We had targeted to feature between 20 and 30 brands on our portal, but we had managed to attract 40 local brands when we launched the portal.

“We have also attracted customers from Australia and other Asian countries, and we are targeting to achieve RM2 million in sales per year,” she said.

Diana said the idea to start the portal came from the lack of a specific platform for customers wishing to buy local beauty products.

“We saw that there were many products with attractive packagings, but the product owners did not have a specific place where they can market their product, and with mySMINK, they would be able to promote and bring their products closer to the customers,” she said. — Bernama
