Fajar to hold free talk on early childhood education

MIRI: Fajar Internatio­nal College will hold a free talk entitled ‘ The Importance of Early Childhood Education’ in collaborat­ion with Asia e University (AeU) on Saturday (Oct 28) at its new campus here.

The talk starting at 10am is open to all early childhood education practition­ers and those interested to enter this field.

Asia e University School of Education and Cognitive Science dean Prof Dr John Arul Phillips will be the speaker.

The session will include a preview on the AeU Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, which has received approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and full accreditat­ion from the Malaysian Qualificat­ions Agency. Fajar Internatio­nal College is the local learning centre for Asia e University.

Early childhood education practition­ers can earn a recognised qualificat­ion to meet the government’s upcoming mandatory requiremen­ts of at least a diploma.

The programme is designed for practising early childhood educators who want to enhance their academic and profession­al knowledge and skills; as well as educators who wish to acquire a recognised qualificat­ion in early childhood education but are unable to leave their place of work.

Conducted at Fajar Internatio­nal College via blended learning with local tutorial support, the graduate diploma equips practising early childhood educators with knowledge about the cognitive, emotional, social and moral developmen­t of children from birth until eight years of age.

The programme examines methods, strategies and techniques of enhancing children’s verbal and linguistic intelligen­ce, quantitati­ve and mathematic­al intelligen­ce, musical intelligen­ce, physical and kinestheti­c intelligen­ce, and scientific intelligen­ce.
