-

BINTULU: It was a proud day for 544 children of Tabika and Taska Permata Kemas Bintulu Parliament who received their scrolls at their 34th graduation ceremony here yesterday.

“This is a special occasion to celebrate and recognise the children for completing early childhood education, and for excellent academic performance,” Samalaju assemblyman Majang Renggi said when officiating at the opening ceremony at Dinner World hall.

He said Bintulu has registered 1,064 children for early childhood education in 56 classes. They are divided into four constituencies: 500 children under Jepak, 69 in Tanjung Batu, 83 in Kemena and 412 in Samalaju.

“Today (yesterday) 56 of them received excellence awards for outstanding performance in class,” said Majang.

He believed children can be motivated to prepare them psychologically and intellectually for success.

“With these graduation certificates and the prayers of parents, teachers and friends, I am confident these children will become excellent human capital for our country,” he said.

This is in line with the Kemas objective and the government’s aspiration to produce quality human capital with fi rst class mentality.

The government he said had allocated funds to improve educational facilities and give children, especially from rural areas, access to quality early childhood education.

In addition, many workshops, training, courses and seminars were organised every year to increase the level of professionalism among Kemas teachers and staff.

“I am proud to see many parents are present today to give moral support to their children who have completed preschool education,” said Majang.

Basically, learning starts at home with the parent as the child’s fi rst teacher and role model, he said.

Also present at the event was Kemas Bintulu officer Nooreffariza Awang Muslaini representing Kemas state director Dayang Monalizawati Abang Ismail.
