Good response to ‘Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer’ programme

MIRI: A two-day Kiss Goodbye To Breast Cancer (KGBC) programme that ended yesterday was conducted at the parking compound of Avon Cosmetics (M) Sdn Bhd @ Joyce Beauty Boutique (Miri) in front of Permaisuri Imperial City Mall.

Organised by Klinik Nur Sejahtera of National Population and Family Developmen­t Board (LPKKN) Miri, the programme was held in conjunctio­n with World Breast Cancer Day.

The organising spokespers­on said it was organised in collaborat­ion with Avon Cosmetics (M) Sdn Bhd @ Joyce Beauty Boutique (Miri) and La Danza Studio Fitness & Dance.

“It was successful­ly implemente­d and received positive response from the public, in particular women.”

He said the main objective of the programme was to increase public awareness of breast cancer.

“This community-based programme was for us to disseminat­e informatio­n on prevention and early detection of breast cancer, as well as serve as a platform to give moral support to women diagnosed with breast cancer.”

Various activities lined up for the two-day event from 10am to 5pm daily were free health screening such as body mass index (BMI), cholestero­l, glucose and blood pressure, pap smear taken by LPKKN Mobile Clinic, demo on self-examinatio­n of breasts, LPKKN examinatio­n, MamaCare service (massage for women only), makeup competitio­n, lucky draw, DIY on Hand Spa and Kizomba Dance Ladies Styling.
