Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang presented the aid to the veterans.
In his speech, he reminded village security and development committees (JKKKs) to use grants distributed by their respective elected representatives for the development of their villages and longhouses.

programmes in villages and not for JKKK’s personal interests,” he said.
“As representatives of the people, we do not want to see any of the JKKKs distributing the grants for personal gain but these grants are to be used for the development of longhouses and to hold JKKK activities.”
Mong added JKKK chairmen must be responsible in the handling of government aid.
“It would be better to divide the grants to each family in the village for housing materials or even for the children’s educational fund instead of using it for something not beneficial,” he stressed.
