Hope Place appeals for aid for comatose stroke patient

KUCHING: Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan is appealing for donations in the form of adult diapers and nutrition formula for a stroke patient.

The patient, Sung Teck Joon, 42, suffered a stroke last month and is currently in a coma at Sarawak General Hospital.

“Sung’s wife passed away two years ago due to a heart attack. He has a daughter who is in secondary school.

“He requires ‘ Nutren Fibre’ formula every day as well as XL- size adult diapers,” said Wan during a recent visit to Sung.

Currently Hope Place is short of Nutren Fibre and XL-size adult diapers, and is seeking help from the public, added Wan.

HopePlacei­sanon-government­al organisati­on that visits the poor and less fortunate families to contribute essential food items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits, and noodles.

For the families with children with special needs, or with elderly or disabled members, Hope Place provides milk powder, oats and diapers.
