Early childhood education practitioners attend talk
MIRI: A total of 20 participants comprising early childhood industry practitioners and parents attended a talk on ‘ The Importance of Early Childhood Education and Development’ at Fajar International College recently.
It was organised by the college in collaboration with Asia e University (AeU).
The talk delivered by Prof Dr John Arul Phillips, dean of the School of Education and Cognitive Science at Asia e University was attended by early childhood education practitioners and those in and around Miri interested in entering this exciting field.
During the session, participants were introduced to the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (GDipECE) programme. Fajar International College is the local learning centre for this programme from Asia e University.
The college is calling interested candidates to register for the January 2018 intake of this GDipECE programme.
According to its press statement, the offering of this programme in Miri gives opportunity for local practitioners of early childhood education to upgrade themselves while getting a qualification to meet coming mandatory requirements. Future early childhood education practitioners are required to have at least a diploma in order to teach.
The AeU graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education is a professional programme approved by the Ministry of Higher Education with full accreditation from the Malaysia Qualifications Agency ( MQA).
This graduate diploma opens door to those with a passion for early childhood education to take it up.
It encourages aspiring early childhood teachers to have access to AeU high quality professional training in this field, and assist existing educators to get qualified academically.
The programme is designed for practising early childhood educators who want to enhance their academic knowledge and professional skills.
It also enables educators unable to leave their place of work to acquire a recognised qualification in early childhood education.
This programme is conducted at Fajar International College via blended learning with local tutorial support.
