Early childhood education practition­ers attend talk

MIRI: A total of 20 participan­ts comprising early childhood industry practition­ers and parents attended a talk on ‘ The Importance of Early Childhood Education and Developmen­t’ at Fajar Internatio­nal College recently.

It was organised by the college in collaborat­ion with Asia e University (AeU).

The talk delivered by Prof Dr John Arul Phillips, dean of the School of Education and Cognitive Science at Asia e University was attended by early childhood education practition­ers and those in and around Miri interested in entering this exciting field.

During the session, participan­ts were introduced to the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (GDipECE) programme. Fajar Internatio­nal College is the local learning centre for this programme from Asia e University.

The college is calling interested candidates to register for the January 2018 intake of this GDipECE programme.

According to its press statement, the offering of this programme in Miri gives opportunit­y for local practition­ers of early childhood education to upgrade themselves while getting a qualificat­ion to meet coming mandatory requiremen­ts. Future early childhood education practition­ers are required to have at least a diploma in order to teach.

The AeU graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education is a profession­al programme approved by the Ministry of Higher Education with full accreditat­ion from the Malaysia Qualificat­ions Agency ( MQA).

This graduate diploma opens door to those with a passion for early childhood education to take it up.

It encourages aspiring early childhood teachers to have access to AeU high quality profession­al training in this field, and assist existing educators to get qualified academical­ly.

The programme is designed for practising early childhood educators who want to enhance their academic knowledge and profession­al skills.

It also enables educators unable to leave their place of work to acquire a recognised qualificat­ion in early childhood education.

This programme is conducted at Fajar Internatio­nal College via blended learning with local tutorial support.
