Imam commends M’sia’s contributions to Palestinians
PUTRAJAYA: The Grand Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Said Sabri has commended Malaysia for its continuous role in assisting the Palestinian Muslims, especially in the liberation of the holy mosque.
He said that Malaysia was not new in fighting for the Palestinians in Gaza who are the victims of the Tel Aviv regime and its continuous efforts and roles have been interpreted in politics by refusing to recognise Israel as a country.
Look at your passport, it is invalid for travel to Israel.
“We also receive other assistance whether in material or humanitarian forms from Malaysia which was channelled through the government or nongovernmental organisations ( NGOs),” he said in a press conference after launching MyAQSA Foundation at Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, here yesterday.
Also present was MyAQSA Foundation chief executive officer Noorazman Mohd Samsuddin.
Sheikh Ekrima said efforts to liberate Al-Aqsa Mosque is the responsibility of all Muslims where control of the mosque is important to Muslims, just like the Grand Mosque in Makkah and Nabawi Mosque in Madinah.
He likened such efforts as defending Palestine.
MyAQSA Foundation would make the effort to channel assistance to Palestine easier.
Noorazman said MyAQSA Foundation received full support from the government and other agencies.
MyAQSA Foundation would form a smart partnership network between government and NGOs to help Muslims inside and outside of the country especially in Palestine.
It is also to increase awareness of Al-Aqsa Mosque as a Muslim holy place that need to be defended. — Bernama
