New one-stop centre to ease burden of complainants — Padawan OCPD

-

KUCHING: A new One-Stop Centre at the Kota Sentosa Police Station has been established to provide immediate attention to those who lodge police reports.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the move was to provide better service to the public and to shorten the response time when dealing with reports lodged.

He said the new facility will allow investigating officers to conduct a systematic investigation.

“Since Padawan District Police headquarters was established in 2014, investigating officers and their assistants have had to carry out their duties at the respective police stations where the cases were reported.

“After a thorough study, the district headquarters decided to establish a one- stop centre to aid investigating officers for systematic investigation to be carried out,” he said in a press conference after officiating the opening of the new facility.

“Now, investigating officers and their assistants will be stationed at the one-stop centre.

This will not only improve the delivery system, but ease the burden of complainants who now do not have to drive to the ( Padawan) district headquarters (in Siburan).”

Aidil pointed out that geographically, the one- stop centre is centrally located where the majority of the crime activities occur.

According to him, statistics show that about 80 per cent of the overall crime cases reported within the jurisdiction of Padawan Police are from Batu Kawa and Kota Sentosa police stations.
