KUCHING: Tahfiz Al- Quran students in the state will, for the first time, gather in a ceremony to be held at Darul Hana Mosque at Jalan Tun Salahuddin on Nov 18.
The 1,000 Huffaz Assembly will be realised as the result of cooperation between the Association of Sarawak Tahfiz Institutions ( Pinta) and the State Government through the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).
The gathering is one of the efforts to empower tahfi z institutions in the state, as well as strengthen institutional links with the state government, a statement from the organisers said.
Through this programme, tahfiz students have the opportunity to mingle with state leaders and hear their messages.
The programme starts with the 30 Juzuk Al- Quran Council which will be held after asar fardhu prayers.
Tahfi z students will be divided into 10 groups with each group to read three Juzuk Al Quran.
People are welcome to participate in the reading and they will be included in each participating group.
They are also encouraged to bring their own Quranic texts, and those with old and unused Al-Quran can hand them over to the Programme Secretariat for the purpose of conservation and disposal in a Shariah-compliant way.
Religious lectures titled ‘ The Benefits of the Quran’ will be held shortly after the recital of maghrib fardhu prayers by invited speakers.
Expected to attend this gathering are 1,650 people including tahfi z students from throughout the state and religious schools such as Malaysian Islamic Skills Institute, Sarawak ( Ikmas).
