SMKDP transformation shows great improvement
MIRI: Even though Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Permaisuri (SMKDP) has just implemented the School Transformation Programme 2025 ( TS25) in March under the new principal, the school has shown tremendous improvement.
As a result, the school was invited to participate in the presentation and exhibition for the TS25 Colloquium of Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan zone, held in Kota Kinabalu recently.
According to the principal Haslinda Jedi, two other teachers Valentine Donny and Kauthar Ibrahim and six Form 4 studentsKhairunnisa Ruddy, Jemina Hana Satu, Zainun Amirah Zainudin, Suhaimi Suffian, Kennedy Jok and Mohammad Aniq Ashwin Abuzar participated in the colloquium.
“I am grateful that SMKDP was entrusted by the Sarawak State Education Department ( JPN) to share the school’s successful transformation while at the same time showcasing students’ work and the school activities.
“This colloquium is an opportunity to share knowledge and learn about best practices from other schools that were there,” she said in a media statement.
During the principal’s presentation, five students of SMKDP were also invited to share on the transformation at the school from the students’ point of view.
“For the exhibition, the school showcased students’ work, Science and T- Drainet projects and pictures of the transformation.
“Many colloquium participants congratulated us on our success based on our achievement with the students and said the school could be an example to other schools,” she added.
The three- day programme was organised by the Teacher Education Division of the Ministry of Education Malaysia and JPN Sabah.
Themed ‘ TS25 Movement of Essential Learning’ featured presentations from 12 principals and teachers and also exhibitions from 10 schools.
Also present at the colloquium were the director- general of Education Malaysia Datuk Dr Amin Senin and KPM Teacher Education Division director Dato Mahmood Karim.
