KUCHING: Lazada Malaysia launched its biggest shopping event of the year – the Online Revolution 2017 – on Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur.

Running for its sixth year, the month-long online shopping extravaganza will take off on November 11 until December 14 and will feature 90 million products with savings of up to 90 per cent.

Lazada Malaysia is expecting ten times increase in orders for Online Revolution as well as a fivefold increase in traffic to Lazada Malaysia’s website during the campaign.

Themed “Shop the Universe”, Lazada Malaysia introduced new sections in 2017 within the Lazada website to provide Malaysians with access to an even wider range of assortments with attractive prices.

These sections include “Digital Goods” that cover Lazada evouchers, Petronas Gift Cards and travel packages, ‘ Official Stores’ with over 1,000 brands like Estee Lauder, Clarks, Senheng and L’Oréal, and lastly ‘Taobao Collections’ that include curated and products from top Taobao China Sellers.

“More people are placing greater trust when purchasing online. This shows that the adoption of eCommerce is accelerating and the online environment is f lourishing in the Malaysian market.

“With the Lazada application already downloaded by a third of the country’s population, we’re expecting about 1 out of 5 Malaysians to be on our platform for this year’s Online Revolution.

“This is a strong testament to our expertise and knowing well ahead what our customers demand – an even wider selection of assortments at any given time,” said Lazada Malaysia chief executive officer Hans-Peter Ressel.

He explained that the campaign is a reflection of the company’s commitment in continuously providing its customers with a seamless shopping experience.

“It is in our nature to expand and evolve alongside our customers’ needs and that is why we have tripled the offerings from last year.

“By putting the “Universe” at the fingertips of our customers, we are addressing every aspect of online shopping that are important to our customers including affordability, assortment and convenience,” he said.

In line with the campaign, consumers can shop from brands including Senheng, Tefal, NYX, Maybelline, Carlo Rino, Durex, Dettol, Scholl, Veet, MotorolaLenovo, JBL, Drypers, Watsons and Nivea with discounts up to 90 per cent off.

Shoppers can also look forward to deals as low as RM1, “Buy 1 free 1” promotions, brand flash sales and ‘Mystery Boxes’ at discounted prices.

Online Revolution will be joined by various marketing partners including Digi and CIMB, and will feature giveaways worth more than RM 60 million, including Club Med holiday packages, Go Pros, iPhone Xs, Perodua Bezzas, a chance to experience Zero- G and many more.
