“About 60 per cent of the candidates are new faces and many of them are youngsters.

“We are confident that we will do better than the last round,” Mah told a news conference after the 46th Gerakan National Delegates Conference ( NDC) at Menara PGRM concluded here yesterday.

The Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister said he had also submitted the name list of potential candidates to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Among them are Wanita chief, Datuk Tan Lian Hoe, Youth chief Tan Keng Liang and their respective deputies.

Asked if he would contest in Penang, Mah, who is Teluk Intan MP, said he would leave the matter to the party to decide.
