‘Kemas kindergart­ens provide quality early childhood education’

KUCHING: Kemas kindergart­en is the government’s commitment in providing quality early education to preschoole­rs as the foundation for moulding capable human capital.

According to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukry, this is shown by the recent award — ‘ Anugerah Emas Trusted Brand of the Year 2017’ given by internatio­nal magazine, Reader’s Digest to Kemas kindergart­en under early childhood education category.

“To produce quality human capital, we need to start from the roots and in this case as early as preschool. Kemas is one of the catalysts in preparing our children for higher education,” said Nancy who is also the Batang Sadong member of parliament.

She was speaking at the Kemas Batang Sadong mini convocatio­n at a hotel here yesterday.

“Kemas should maintain their current standards, and we hope that similar success can be achieved in the future,” she said.

She later urged parents not to neglect early childhood education and play a larger role in their children’s education.

“The government will continue to provide all the necessary infrastruc­ture such as schools and kindergart­ens, and the people in return should use utilize these, prioritizi­ng education to ensure that their children are on the path to academic success,” she said.

A total of 162 students from Kemas kindergart­ens under the Batang Sadong constituen­cy attended the mini convocatio­n. Also present were Assistant Minister for Entreprenu­er Developmen­t Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and Gedong assemblyma­n Datuk Naroden Majais and Simunjan assemblyma­n Awla Dris.
