‘Kemas kindergartens provide quality early childhood education’
KUCHING: Kemas kindergarten is the government’s commitment in providing quality early education to preschoolers as the foundation for moulding capable human capital.
According to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukry, this is shown by the recent award — ‘ Anugerah Emas Trusted Brand of the Year 2017’ given by international magazine, Reader’s Digest to Kemas kindergarten under early childhood education category.
“To produce quality human capital, we need to start from the roots and in this case as early as preschool. Kemas is one of the catalysts in preparing our children for higher education,” said Nancy who is also the Batang Sadong member of parliament.
She was speaking at the Kemas Batang Sadong mini convocation at a hotel here yesterday.
“Kemas should maintain their current standards, and we hope that similar success can be achieved in the future,” she said.
She later urged parents not to neglect early childhood education and play a larger role in their children’s education.
“The government will continue to provide all the necessary infrastructure such as schools and kindergartens, and the people in return should use utilize these, prioritizing education to ensure that their children are on the path to academic success,” she said.
A total of 162 students from Kemas kindergartens under the Batang Sadong constituency attended the mini convocation. Also present were Assistant Minister for Entreprenuer Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and Gedong assemblyman Datuk Naroden Majais and Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris.
