KSN: More than 80,000 TN50 aspirations received

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Since its launching in January, the government has received more than 80,000 aspirations from the people on 2050 National Transformation ( TN50), says the Chief Secretary to the Government ( KSN), Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

He said the figure was compiled from the participation of two million citizens including civil servants in TN50 dialogue sessions.

“Most of the aspirations are on education and welfare of civil servants especially on housing and integrity.

“On the question of education, many have asked for free education up to university but then even developed countries are not doing so, we will nevertheless considered the proposal as it is an aspiration of the people,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after a TN50 dialogue session which was attended by about 2,700 civil servants at Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios here yesterday.

On the welfare of civil servants, Ali said many raised the issue of housing.

However, according to him, the government has various ways of overcoming it including implementing the 1Malaysia Civil Servant Housing ( PPA1M) which is projected to churn out 200,000 units by 2020.

Apart from that, the government through Budget 2018 also announced the construction of 10,000 units of PPA1M for Royal Malaysia Police personnel while at state level, various affordable housing schemes for the people and civil servants would also be implemented.

On corruption, some quarters have proposed that it is made the nation’s number one enemy and it coincided with the desire of the government to keep the country free from corruption in future.

“This is not only about corruption but on the question of internal integrity. We can give various talks and so on but it goes back to the individual person.

“So we will continue with preventive measures to create awareness among civil servants as many are not aware what construe corruption,” he said.

Also present at the dialogue session was Johor State Secretary, Datuk Azmi Rohani. — Bernama
