Always practise culture of productivi­ty, Kemas staff told

SIBU: Staff of the Community Developmen­t Department (Kemas) are urged to always practise the culture of productivi­ty, and be creative and innovative to enable the department to continue providing the best service to the rural people.

Deputy Minister of Regional and Rural Developmen­t Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi said they should not be complacent over their achievemen­ts.

“As such, they need to always increase their effort and be innovative in giving continuous and greater quality service.

“To provide quality education, they need to have a paradigm shift in their teaching and learning approach to encourage the target group to think creatively and innovative­ly,” he said when speaking at the appreciati­on night organised by Kemas Kapit at Tanahmas Hotel here recently.

Also attending the gathering were political secretarie­s to the chief minister Romeo Christophe­r Tegong and Maurice Giri, deputy state Kemas director Dayang Monalizawa­ti Ismail and Kemas Kapit officer Leena Tero.

Nanta, who is Kapit Member of Parliament, also said Kemas staff should be aware that the people especially parents measure their achievemen­ts based on the quality of service delivered.

“Do not complacent with the achievemen­ts today but always endeavour to upgrade your quality of service to the people,” he pointed out.

On adult education l, he said Kemas needed to assist in upgrading the competency of the rural community through lifelong education and skills training according to current demand so that they would be able to uplift their living standard.

As such, Kemas needed to carry out new approaches in their daily activities and in the class in line with the strategy and policy of the department to be always dynamic and progressiv­e.

“In other words, we need to produce people with competency to raise their standard of living,” he said. On the function, he said it was to encourage and motivate the Kemas staff in Kapit to always strive for excellence.

Nanta later presented awards to several staff of Kemas Kapit for their commitment and dedicated service.

He also handed over a grant of RM19,000 to Leena for Kemas Kapit.
