‘Dissatisfied DAP delegates can lodge complaints’

-

SHAH ALAM: The DAP delegates who are dissatisfied with the Sunday’s result of the re- election of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) members at the special congress should submit a complaint to the committee.

Selangor DAP publicity secretary Ng Suee Lim said this was necessary to allow them the space to state issues related to the re- election of the CEC members to be channelled directly to the party’s leadership.

“We ( Selangor DAP state assemblyman) will not comment on the CEC result as we are confident that the delegates have shown their wisdom,” he told a press conference at Selangor state assembly lobby, here yesterday.

Asked about allegations of several delegates that they did not receive official notice of CEC’s re- election, Ng said the matter should be referred to independent audit firm Grant Thornton.

The Sekinchan state assemblyman said the DAP had appointed the Grant Thornton to manage all spects of the CEC reelection, without the intervention of anybody from the party.

The re- election yesterday saw veteran leader Lim Kit Siang and son, Lim Guan Eng remained as CEC members.

Kit Siang received 1,199 votes, the highest among the candidates. Guan Eng received 1,180 votes to remain as the party’s secretarygeneral. Puchong MP, Gobind Singh Deo received 1,198 voters, the second highest. — Bernama
