Jet belongs to Sabah Air Aviation

-

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Air Aviation Sdn Bhd yesterday clarified that it owns and operates the G200 jet which is claimed to belong to a high ranking state government official.

“The G200 jet is for commercial charter.

“The public, individual, corporate or government entity can charter the G200 jet at anytime,” the company said in a statement yesterday. Sabah Air also owns and operates a Nomad and a KingAir 200 which are also for the purpose of commercial charter, medevac and aerial survey.

The company explained this after some people intentionally or unintentionally missed its earlier statement and instead alluded to questionable or suspicious activities by the state government.

“Sabah Air is in the process of venturing into VIP air ambulance and executive charter with a Singapore company.

“We are looking to lease or acquire a Lear Jet 60 to be based out of Sabah Air’s Subang base.

“Sabah Air operates the following helicopters for commercial charter, passenger transfer for offshore oil and gas industry, flying doctor service, medevac, aerial survey and aerial tourism: Five Bell, four Airbus, two Sikorsky and one Augusta,” said the company.

On Tuesday, Parti Warisan Sabah sought clarification from two Umno leaders whether or not they own luxury assets, including a private jet, seafront mansion and fleet of high- end vehicles.

Warisan vice president Junz Wong claimed an Umno leader in Sabah was allegedly seen alighting from a private jet on Monday.

According to sources, he said the private jet belonged to a foreign company registered in Birmingham and thus the party was unable to find out the identity of the plane’s owner.

Wong, who is also Likas assemblyman, said there was a Facebook posting alleging that the private jet was owned by the Umno leader.

As such, the party requested the leader to clarify whether the private jet was owned by him or the State Government.

He also sought clarification from another Umno leader as to whether he owned a collection of luxury vehicles and seafront mansion in Putatan.
