New programmes for micro entreprene­urs

THE Ministry of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t has introduced new programmes for micro entreprene­urs in Sarawak this year.

This revealed by its minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah when winding up her ministeria­l speech yesterday.

Two of the new programmes known as e- Entreprene­ur and e- Rezeki are aimed at coordinati­ng the capabiliti­es of micro entreprene­urs.

She also said the two programmes would be continued in Sibu Division on Nov 20 and Samarahan Division on Nov 27. Fatimah also mentioned there were also programmes for women entreprene­urs such as the Women in Digital Entreprene­ur (WIDE).

“The WIDE programme is meant for women entreprene­urs from the newly launched Wisma Wanita Training Centre ( WWTC), and is a strategic partnershi­p between JWKS, NAM Institute for the Empowermen­t of Women (NIEW) and MDec,” she said.

Under the Welfare Micro Entreprene­ur Developmen­t Programme ( UMK), the beneficiar­ies would receive the maximum RM5,000-worth of project grant and undergo mental developmen­t activities, business training, enterprise skills training and services, economic project management guidance, marketing training including online marketing, carnival promotion of products and distributi­on of products to places outside Sarawak.
