SkyWorld receives recognition from CIDB

-

KUCHING: SkyWorld Development Group received its first Quality Assessment System in Construction (Qlassic) certification on Wednesday for achieving a 76 per cent score for its first residential project Ascenda Residences at SkyArena, Setapak.

Construction Industry Development Board ( CIDB) construction quality and safety division general manager Razuki Ibrahim and manager Chuang Kuang Hong presented the Qlassic certificate to SkyWorld chief operating officer Lee Chee Seng in Kuala Lumpur.

Lee said the award is a testament to SkyWorld’s quality pledge in successfully delivering quality homes.

“As an emerging developer, building our first project was always a challenge. And building our first project following Qlassic standards and getting it completed three months ahead of schedule was an even bigger challenge. Our dedicated project and quality assurance team managed to pull this off. Big kudos to them,” he said in a press release.

“When we built our SkyWorld Quality Centre, we pledged to provide quality homes for all our developments. In Malaysia, an average of 7,600 projects and developments are built every year and only 4.1 per cent are certified by Qlassic. We are part of the select few and we are proud to be associated with CIDB.”

Qlassic is a system and method used by CIDB to assess and evaluate the quality of building workmanship based on the Construction Industry Standard in Malaysia. This system was established to objectively compare the quality of workmanship through a series of stringent scoring systems.

Ascenda Residences is SkyWorld’s first property development in Malaysia offering 650 condominium units on a 3.35acre site, with a gross development value of RM399 million.

In April, SkyWorld broke new ground by announcing the commencement of SkyWorld Quality Centre, the first of its kind in Malaysia. The RM3.8 million, 13,000- square foot centre is the epitome of SkyWorld’s Quality pledge to its purchasers and the public.

It offers not only Qlassic or Construction Quality Assessment System ( Conquas) standard workmanship – certified by the construction industry in Malaysia – but also serves as an educational centre for those who want to learn the difference between quality compliant standards and noncompliant standards.

The centre was completed at the end of last month and will be open to the public on Jan 18. To register and to be the first to visit SkyWorld Quality Centre, send contact details to corporate@ skyworld.my.
