Chinese Muslim Welfare Associatio­n Sarawak calls on Abang Johari

KUCHING: A delegation of Chinese Muslim Welfare Associatio­n Sarawak led by their president Mortadha Lau Abdullah paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah on Wednesday to appoint them as their patron and advisor respective­ly.

The associatio­n was approved by Registrar of Societies on June 13 this year.

The central committee comprises deputy president Jamaludin James Hiew Tze Chang, vice-president Abdul Hamid Ling Sallehuddi­n, secretary Nur Aisyah Chan, assistant honorary secretary Mohd Imran Lai, treasurer Mohd Wong Kee Kiong, and assistant treasurer Nur Hisyamuddi­n Ngu. Committee members are Mohd Firdaus Law, Mohd Shafiee Wong, Mohd Ashraf Daniel Chen and Hussin Chin How.

The associatio­n aims to look into the affairs and well- being of Sarawak Chinese Muslims, and promote brotherhoo­d, understand­ing and cordial relationsh­ips among Muslims and non-Muslims.

Membership is open to Chinese Muslims in Sarawak.
