Cuepacs thanks state govt for giving increased incentive to state civil staff

-

SIBU: Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) Sarawak welcomes the announcement that all state civil servants will receive a special incentive of a month’s salary or a minimum of RM2,000.

State Cuepacs (CNS) president Ahmad Malie pointed out yesterday that this is the best incentive to be received by state civil servants as they previously only received RM500.

Ahmad was commenting on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s announcement in his winding up speech on Friday that for the first time the state government would give a special incentive equivalent to one month basic salary or a minimum of RM2,000 to all employed under the state civil service in December.

Ahmad said: “CNS welcomes the announcement with thanks.

“CNS thanks the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg. The announcement of the incentive clearly proves that the state government is sensitive and listens to the plight of state civil servants.”

CNS hoped that this would motivate state civil servants to continue supporting and giving their best service to the people to repay the state government.

At the same time, he urged state civil servants – those in the middle income group in particular, to be prudent with their spending especially with the new school term 2018 and festive season round the corner.

Towards this end, Ahmad also hoped that the state government can give special incentive to all civil servants regardless of whether they are under the state or federal civil service in tabling future budget as a gesture to appreciate their contribution in helping develop Sarawak.
