Outpost Miri to host charity bazaar at Piasau Boat Club next weekend

-

MIRI: Those who love handmade products will be spoilt for choice during Outpost Miri’s charity bazaar at Piasau Boat Club here on Nov 25, running from 10am to 2pm.

The bazaar will feature a variety of products made by over 30 artisans including silversmith John Ng and batik painter Sim Choo Heng.

“Other crafts to be featured are home-baked goods, home décor items, beadworks and also miniature Christmas trees that suit the upcoming festive season,” said an Outpost Miri spokesperson recently.

Mental Health Association (MHA) Miri has been adopted as the sole beneficiary of the proceeds from the charity sale – about 10 per cent of profits for the day will be donated to the association.

“This is a great way to connect with the public and also to promote public awareness of mental health,” the spokesperson said.

Outpost Miri is part of the Global Outpost Services network supporting Shell employees and their families faced with the challenges of international mobility.

It works as platform for members by providing services such as welcoming and helping them to settle in, providing personal and practical information, connecting people and building network.

“As Miri City is such a small place, we are working to help people beyond Shell employees and reaching out to those in need; the charity bazaar would be one of these initiatives,” said the Outpost Miri spokesperson.
