MUFY has international programme

-

According to 17 year-old Michelle, she chose MUFY as she wanted an internationally recognised programme which encompassed more than pure information recall.

“It gave me the requirements I needed in a shorter time frame and it was more coursework based which I appreciated. It is one of the most flexible Pre-U programmes available.

I managed to achieve what I did in Sunway due to the support and understanding of my MUFY teachers and the opportunities they gave me. I also really enjoyed the balance between coursework and final exams that MUFY had: it kept me on track with my grades while still giving me enough free time to pursue other activities”, she said.

She found it a challenge when it came to balancing academic load with extracurricular activities.

“We were constantly working on several different assignments at once and the clubs I was in aimed to have constant activities year round to accommodate students from all different programmes.”

The recipient of the Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship and a Sunway Student Ambassador, Michelle cites the one best thing she takes away from her time in the MUFY programme at Sunway College as, “The profound influence that sincere educators have in shaping a student’s education and character. I also took away improved soft skills such as time-management, independence, and negotiation.”

For Michelle some of the most memorable moments of her MUFY experience include, “Completing assignments such as conducting data analysis or writing research reports. Some of my teachers were incredibly engaging as well due to their great experiences, characters, and teaching skills. Classes with those teachers were the best part of my MUFY experience.”

Michelle is currently pursuing studies at the Minerva Schools at KGI in San Francisco, California. She started in late August this year.

“I’m also particularly excited for the weekly opportunities we’ll have in each of the 7 world cities we’re visiting such as locationbased assignments, networking events, and internship opportunities,” she said.

Michelle’s advice to future students of Sunway College, “Make use of everything that Sunway has made available to you. You will grow the most when you do things that are beyond your required syllabus. This does not mean that you neglect your studies, but if you don’t venture beyond your academic syllabus you will not be prepared for work.
