Centexs students, staff attend Integrity Week

-

KUCHING: The Centre of Technical Excellence, Santubong ( Centexs) yesterday launched its Integrity Week as part of the centre’s effort to build a conducive, quality and corruption- free environment.

Officiated by Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office ( Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip, the five- day event will see several programmes to further educate students including the workforce of Centexs on the dangers of corruption and the importance of integrity in every individual.

Talib, in his speech, reminded students and staff of Centexs that there are indeed challenges to overcome but the success of each organisation depends on how each and every individual in it works towards achieving the mission and vision of the organisation.

“It may be hard for some, and it may be easy for some, but to be a person with integrity it must come with the necessary awareness of the dangers of corruption and misconduct, especially at the workplace,” said Talib.

He added that one should always be honest, and reminded everyone of the pitfalls of being dishonest.

Talib lauded the effort by Centexs to fulfil its obligation towards integrity, which according to him will give the organisation a good image.

“Perform your duty and roles with dignity, and stay away from bribe and corruption,” he added.

The event also saw the staff and students of Centexs take the integrity pledge in a ceremony witnessed by Centexs chief executive officer Wan Mohd Hussien Wan Abdul Rahman and Yayasan Sarawak deputy director Mersal Abang Rosli.
