Prasarana tightens procedures for vendors and suppliers

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Berhad ( Prasarana) has stepped up its administration process and procedures by finetuning the Statutory Declaration for vendors and suppliers to empower integrity in its operations.

Its president and group chief executive officer, Datuk Seri Azmi Abdul Aziz said the new Statutory Declaration signed by all vendors and suppliers would allow legal action to be taken against them if an offence was committed, instead of only being blacklisted in the past.

“The vendors and suppliers dealing with Prasarana and its subsidiaries are required to attend the Integrity Briefing at least once to ensure that they fully understood the intention behind the signing of the Statutory Declaration, as well as the group’s integrity programme,” he said in a statement here after launching the 2017 Integrity Month and the signing of Corruption-Free Pledge (CFP) yesterday.

Also present was Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner, Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad.

Azmi reminded the vendors and suppliers to always comply with the policies and procedures set by Prasarana which is committed to ensure all its dealings are corruption-free.

Meanwhile, he also announced the formation of a working committee, comprising various departments within the group, to detect waste in procurement and to block illegitimate payment. — Bernama
