‘Use digital technology to teach the young’
MIRI: Teachers should be more innovative in conducting their lessons by using digital technology to introduce young children to digital learning early.
“Recently, we heard about kids from other parts of the world learning coding and creating mobile applications at the tender age of 12 to 15 years old, sold it to giant tech companies and made millions.
“Though it may sound impossible, I am pretty sure that early exposure to digital technology may help children develop their talents. With proper guidance they could do many wonderful things and even change the world for the better,” Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting said in his speech at the SJK (C) Tudan appreciation dinner on Sunday.
According to Ting, digital development is the new future and that it is never too early for children to learn. The dinner, held at Grand Palace Hotel here, was attended by nearly 70 teachers and staff who had contributed extensively to the school’s academic and cocurriculum. Also present at the dinner were headmaster Law Sie Kong, chairman of school board of directors Tong Shih Yee and Pemanca Yong Vui Seng.
During the dinner, seven teachers were given recognition awards for their dedication and long service to the school.
