Motorcyclist in critical condition after crashing into car
KUCHING: A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after he crashed into a car around 7pm on Friday.
The 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries after the crash at a U-turn along Jalan Batu Kawah here.
He was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), where he is still under Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He suffered internal injuries and multiple fractures to his hand and legs.
It is also understood that he suffered a broken skull.
According to witnesses, the car was heading towards Bau from Jalan Batu Kawah when the driver made a U-turn – at that moment, the motorcyclist was approaching from the opposite direction and crashed into the car.
The impact caused the car to plunge into the bushes.
The case is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, a man survived a crash that occurred at Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol earlier yesterday.
It is learnt that the driver, who was travelling alone, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a tree.
The impact caused the car to overturn.
The driver did not suffer any injuries in the 3.30pm incident, despite being flung out of the car and hitting a tree before falling facedown.
Police and Fire and Rescue Department personnel attended to the victim.
