Hope Place answers request of Medical Welfare Fund, Sri Aman Hospital
SRI AMAN: The Sri Aman Hospital branch of Medical Welfare Fund got what they requested when 30 new wheelchairs and 20 new plastic chairs arrived last Friday, thanks to Hope Place Kuching.
Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan handed over the wheelchairs to assistant director Dr Oii Soon Ming who represented the hospital. Head nurse Alina Aka received the 20 plastic chairs.
Two months ago the hospital reached out to Hope Place to help make their patients more comfortable. Apart from that, Wan and his team also stopped by to hand over a wheelchair to 13-year old Viviana Salang, who is a special needs individual and unable to walk. The team handed over essential items to his family, witnessed by Hospital Sri Aman social worker Azizzie.
Hope Place Kuching would like to take this opportunity to thank Hom Kim Recycling Co Sdn Bhd manager Allan Chai for sponsoring the transportation of the wheelchairs and plastic chairs to Sri Aman.
Hope Place is an NGO that visits the poor and less fortunate to contribute some essential food items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits, and noodles. Many of these families or individuals who barely earn enough to get through the month are grateful.
For the families with special needs children, elderly or disabled members, Hope Place provides milk powder, oats and diapers as well.
Hope Place carries out their aid deliveries to 180 families currently on their list once every two months.
