Charity movie premier of Malaysia-China production ‘Blue Tears’

MIRI: ‘Blue Tears’ a Malaysia-China production will premier at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) Bintang Megamall on Dec 2 and 3.

The proceeds of the charity movie premier with tickets at RM100 each, will be donated to Pei Min Middle School to fund the school’s various programmes including the building of new school block.

The 100-minute movie which is a joint production between Universal Television Company of Malaysia and Global Business Internatio­nal Group Limited of China, was directed by Zhu Dan using over 90 per cent local talents.

This movie production promotes Miri and Sarawak’s places of interest as tourist destinatio­ns to the Chinese audience.

The main stars for the movie are Ringo Yu known for his role in Jackie Chan’s New Police Story and the 2010 remake of Karate Kid and Sun Wei, a singer and actor who has starred in five major TV dramas in Beijing TV Channel Broadcast.

Ringo Yu plays an aged Ling in the movie, who tells his grandson about a local Miri lady, Katrina with whom he fell in love as a young man (played by Sun Wei). When Katrina’s parents objected to their relationsh­ip, a frustrated Ling return to China and ended up marrying someone else.

His grandson embarks on a journey to look for his grandfathe­r’s first love and finds his own instead.

On Dec 2, there will be 3 screenings­Hall 8 at 7pm, Hall 6 at 7.15pm and Hall 7 at 7.30pm.

On Dec 3, the movie will be shown at Hall 8 at 7pm, Hall 6 at 7.15pm and Hall 7 at 7.30pm.
