Senior Assistant (co- curricular activities) Wan Deros Wan Badli who led the entourage said the visit was to expose the rural children to city life.

It was an enjoyable trip for most of them, especially those visiting the state capital for the first time.

While in Kuching, the entourage was brought to places of interest such as Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching Waterfront, Jung Crocodile Farm, State Legislative Assembly Building, Astana Negeri Sarawak, Sarawak Museum, Unimas, UiTM and shopping complexes.

“For the pupils in particular, it was a new experience to see many things not available in rural areas such as high rise buildings, busy traffic and bustling city life.

The expenses for the trip were covered by funds from Meluan Assemblyman Rolland Duat.

On behalf of the entourage and the school, Deros thanked Rolland for his generosity as well as contributing RM10,000 for the school to organise various programmes this year.

Last year he contributed RM15,000 to the PTA activity fund.
