54 teams to compete in Kuching City Open 2017 Darts Championship
This year a total of RM25,000 cash prizes is up for grabs.
KUCHING: A total of 54 teams from various countries and states in the country will be taking part in the second Kuching City Open 2017 (KCO17) Darts Championship at Stadium Perpaduan from Dec 8 to 10.
The championship is organised by Kuching North City Commission ( DBKU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, sponsored by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), Kuching City Parking System and supported by Sarawak Dart Association and Kuching Dart Association.

that KCO is an international event and recognised by World Dart Federation ( WDF) and gets advisory assistance from Malaysia Dart Association.
“This year a total of RM25,000 in cash prizes is up for grabs,” he said at the press conference held at the championship’s venue yesterday.
The championship is divided into four categories - Team, Second Chance Team, Men’s Singles Open and Women’s Singles Open.
The champions will receive RM8,000, a trophy and medal while Second Chance Team winner will get RM700, Men’s Singles Open Category RM1,500 and Women’s Singles Open RM800.
Abdul Wahap hoped that such international event, featuring top local and international players, would attract dart enthusiasts to the venue.
“This kind of event is in line with council’s vision to make Kuching City more vibrant and to bring visitors to the city,” he said.
“We welcome players from Singapore and Brunei, participating states of Selangor, Labuan, Perlis, Kedah and Kota Kinabalu, divisional and district teams from Sri Aman, Miri, Kuching, Bintulu, Padawan and Sibu,” he said.
For those who are interested to compete in the local team, men’s and women’s singles categories, they can still register and play on the day when the event begins.
“We want to at tract more local dart players to join the championship and further boost the sport,” he said.
