Sarawak Energy signs MoU with Unimas for collaborat­ion

KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad ( SEB) recently signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing ( MoU) with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak ( Unimas).

The areas of collaborat­ion include feasibilit­y studies and consultanc­y works, research and developmen­t activities as well as industry knowledge transfers. The memorandum also include staff exchange, internship placement and student ambassador activities, aimed at human capital developmen­t and skills enhancemen­t.

The MoU builds on the strong working relationsh­ip between SEB and Unimas in biodiversi­ty research and human resource employee engagement survey.

Addressing the guests before the signing ceremony, SEB Group chief executive officer Sharbini Suhaili said the MoU would mutually benefit both SEB and Unimas.

“SEB invests significan­tly in staff developmen­t and training programmes as well as makes material social investment­s through our annual higher eduction scholarshi­p programme for our bright young Sarawakian­s.

“Working together with Unimas through this MoU provides us with an additional platform to enhance and reinforce capability in Sarawak,” added Sharbini.

Signing the MoU with Sharbini on behalf of SEB was Nooruddin Abdullah, Senior Vice President, Legal and Enterprise Risk.

Vice Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi and Associate Professor Dr Shahren Ahmad Zaidi Adruce signed on behalf of Unimas.
