BR1M recipients can update details with IRB via smartphones — Lee

MIRI: Recipients and new applicants of 1Malaysia People’s Aid ( BR1M) can now update their personal details with Inland Revenue Board ( IRB) website through smartphones.

However, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin said there is a need for smartphone users to change the setting to open the IRB’s website in desktop view.

“It is true that you are unable to open the IRB’s BR1M website on ‘mobile’ view because the website is not designed for mobile phone application.

“To solve this issue, the setting has to be changed to ‘desktop view’ – only then, it would enable BR1M applicants to update their details with IRB via their smartphones,” he told reporters during the SUPP Senadin’s ‘ Meet-The- People’ session at AliPapa Café here yesterday.

Lee, who is also SUPP Senadin chairman, said this online initiative would provide a convenient setting to the BR1M recipients.

In view of that, he said members of the SUPP branch are now on the ground to guide the BR1M’s recipients on how to update their details with LHDN via smartphones.

Apart from that, he said SUPP Senadin and the party’s Riam sub- branch offices always open their doors to those in need of assistance in updating their BR1M details.

These SUPP offices are open from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm daily.
